MyHermes has been a 100% success so far.
A fully tracked service, with up to £50 compensation as standard,
the option of collection from my own doorstep for an extra 30p.

They even changed the printer options on my account,  so I can print smaller dedicated address labels using a Brother QL550 printer. Very neat!

(Having had one of my packages refused by the tub of lard behind the counter at the Post Office at the Jewel/ASDA Edinburgh,
on the evening of 8th October 2013,
as "she" insisted it was too long (the package was 24": yet the Royal Mail PLC limit is 72"),
I will now be mailing my goods by private couriers in ALL possible cases.

Royal Mail PLC will be purely used as a last resort if no other service provider can be found)

Due to continued ongoing problems with Australia Post & Canada Post, I will no longer ship to either country.

(This is in addition to numerous past problems with Canadian Ebay buyers/Ebay.)

As of October 2018, there are items I sent to both countries in June by Tracked & Signed For Airmail that have yet to be delivered.
Online tracking may as well not exist for all the good it has been!

The many hours and in some cases days of time & effort I put into making the items that I sell is totally wasted if such couriers cannot be trusted to deliver them, or if the UK Royal Mail then sees fit to destroy such undelivered items instead of returning them to sender (as once was default practice before privatisation!!)
To add insult to injury such losses are almost impossible to successfully claim for, even with extra insurance/tracking, etc.
