Sling (gevarsrem)

Made from the same grade of leather as the Cheekrest, the m/41B sling is similar in concept to the American M1907 leather sling,

but made using more commonly found buckles as opposed to the cast brass hooks of the US sling.

The short lower section can be unfastened for use if required,

while the long upper section is made more user friendly by the addition of a rubber lining strip.

~

The rubber liner for these slings was sourced from the same factory that supplied the Swedish defence forces in the 1950's.

It is even made using the original mold !

The rubber liner is sewn in by hand using either yellow or natural off-white cotton thread & the slings are normally supplied in their natural state,

as seen in the images below; they soon darken with use and exposure to UV light, the addition of leather dressing or hide food, etc.

~

PLEASE KEEP THE LINER STRIP AWAY FROM NEATSFOOT OIL, & SIMILAR PRODUCTS, AS IT DESTROYS RUBBER.

~

The slings cost £75
