V-42: U.S. Navy/"U.S.S. OMAHA" version

"U.S.S. OMAHA" V-42 SCABBARD

(NOT YET STAMPED WITH THE U.S.S. OMAHA LETTERING)

Based closely on the U.S.M.C. "Marine Raider" scabbard - this design shows a couple of minor changes -

but the overall size & dimensions follow the Marine Corps stiletto scabbard:

M.H Cole called a standard version of this design, the "Type 3".

As with a lot of knives in wartime use too, scabbards may have done duty for more than one knife

(as knives were lost, traded, broken, etc.)
