The most commonly seen bayonet frog used by the Home Guard was the leather 1939 Pattern.
This was made using a special "wrinkled" leather, the same leather also being used on the issued Leather Anklets.
The frog was a basic design & could take the 1914 Pattern Bayonet Scabbard, plus the US version, the M1917 Scabbard - the US scabbard was sometimes fitted with M1910 equipment hanger hook permanently attached for use with their issued Mills webbing cartridge belt.
These Frogs are hand-sewn, the copper hose fittings are correct gauge & the washers are tinned, as per WD specifications.
The frogs have a Broad Arrow mark, plus a wartime date stamp; an authentic looking maker stamp is under development.
