Made using the same type of "wrinkled" hide as the 1939 Bayonet Frog, these Anklets were a common sight
& another unique Home Guard identifier. As with the Frogs the Anklets were made from a tan/brown hide.
BLACK ANKLETS are often encountered, or advertised as being Home Guard, but these are from WW2 & post-war CIVIL DEFENCE issued examples; sometimes made using original WW2 Home Guard anklets dyed black for reissue to Civil Defence as a cost saving measure.
The brass buckles used in my Anklets are new production, the small rivets are solid brass, all sewing done by hand, etc.
Maker stamps and rubber size stamps are in the pipeline....at present these are size stamped on the upper with a metal number punch.
One of my anklets after a couple of years of use at shows, etc.
