I made one of the WW1 German Entrenching tool carriers a few years ago,
sourcing the plans for this from a 1916 dated German saddlers handbook.
This was a few years ago now & it has been very successfully used at several events in the UK
As the WW1 Imperial Russian entrenching tool became standard issue to the new Finnish Army from 1917
the German WW1 carrier is the perfect size and design for it, as the E-tools seem to have been of a common size/type:
makes sense as a lot of the Imperial Russian army spades and e-tools had been made by factories in Finland.
The WW1 style carrier makes for a neater carry option in contrast to the more basic belt clip/hook arrangement.
SA stamps are on order, so these carriers can be marked with correct logo if desired.
