British - 2nd Boer War, WW1 & WW2 (Home Guard)
Long Lee Enfield, S.M.L.E.,
Pattern 14 & U.S. M1917
British 1903 Pattern
Made to fit the early Long Lee Enfield rifle, but also ideal for early S.M.L.E. rifles,
this pattern of sling saw some W.W.1 service until replaced by the easier to manufacture Pattern 1914 version
(the 1903 & 1914 patterns only differ in that the early one is hand-sewn & the latter riveted)
Same basic design principle as the Victorian era Buff Sling that I also make.
Made from best quality English Bridle butt leather to the correct War Department specification.
Can be supplied with Broad Arrow ordnance markings & dates, if required
£45
A bridle hide version, showing the standard hand-sewn construction
British 1914 Pattern
Same basic design as the 1903 Pattern sling, but no hand sewing was required in the manufacture of this version -
meaning non-specialist labour could be employed in its manufacture
Made from top quality veg.-tanned English leather, and brass/copper rivets (correct for W.W.1 slings)
NOTE: I have now sourced some correct tinned washers,
so slings with the copper hose rivets will have tinned washers used for added authenticity.
Photo's of the tinned washer variant to follow.
Can be supplied with Broad Arrow ordnance markings & dates, if required
£45
Another variation, using a darker bridle hide
